The only reason I remember that this expanse of trees is Honduras is because shortly after I took this picture we were stopped by the Honduras police. The driver was almost given a ticket because he didn’t have a fire extinguisher in the car. “But it’s a new car,” the driver explained to the officer. “Oh, those are the worst! They catch fire quicker!” the office replied. After he was offered money, he no longer seemed overly concerned about our safety. The grand shake down? 100 lempiras, which if I have the currency rates correct is about five dollars. Ooph.
