The transformation between super shallow, materialistic, selfish, spoiled brat to confident, mature, selfless individual was pretty quick and somewhat unrealistic in my opinion but I had a sneaking suspicion that was going to happen when I bought the book so I can’t really say I’m disappointed. As is usual with these types of books I found the main character to be unbelievably annoying but at the same time, reading these books is like holding a mirror up to myself. While I think (and hope) that I’m not so hopelessly silly, I do sometimes see bits of myself in these women and that’s a nice reminder to shape up a bit. Getting a dose of that every once in a while doesn’t hurt.
